The Ready Gunner HK Mark 23 FDE Suppressed Package combines one of HK's most recognizable .45 ACP pistols with a carefully selected group of premium components centered around suppressed use. The build pairs the Flat Dark Earth Mark 23 frame with a matching Flat Dark Earth Rugged Obsidian 45, creating a distinctive package while bringing the major components together in one configuration.
At the center of the build is an HK Mark 23 chambered in .45 ACP with a 5.87" threaded polygonal barrel, Flat Dark Earth polymer frame, black Cerakote serrated steel slide, fixed sights, and 12+1 capacity. The package adds a Rugged Obsidian 45 FDE suppressor, Rugged M16x1 RH piston, SureFire X300-B Turbo, Gen 2 HK Mark 23 Picatinny Rail Adapter, and SchleTek Cera-Grease ceramic thread grease.
The HK Mark 23 provides the foundation for this Ready Gunner build. Chambered in .45 ACP, the Mark 23 features a 5.87" threaded polygonal barrel, double-action/single-action operating system, steel slide, polymer frame, ambidextrous safety lever, and separate decocking lever.
An O-ring at the barrel helps provide consistent barrel-to-slide lockup. The pistol also incorporates HK's USP-type mechanical recoil reduction system, which HK states reduces recoil forces transmitted to the shooter and pistol components by approximately 30%.
This configuration features a Flat Dark Earth polymer frame paired with a black Cerakote serrated steel slide and includes two 12-round magazines.
The included Rugged Obsidian 45 is finished in Flat Dark Earth Cerakote to complement the FDE frame of the Mark 23. The suppressor is constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel and measures approximately 8.6" long, 1.37" in diameter, and 12.8 oz.
Rugged's ADAPT modular system allows the Obsidian 45 to be configured in multiple lengths. Its serviceable stainless steel baffles use indexing tabs for alignment and are designed to create a gas seal between the baffle stack and suppressor tube.
The Obsidian 45 is full-auto rated and compatible with suppressor-height sights. It includes the ADAPT module, .45 front cap, and a factory .578x28 piston.
The Obsidian 45 normally ships with a .578x28 piston. Because this package is built around the HK Mark 23, Ready Gunner also includes a separate Rugged M16x1 RH piston for this configuration.
The Rugged piston is machined from 17-4 stainless steel and heat treated for durability. Its non-slotted design creates a full-circumference gas seal and is designed for use with the Obsidian 45 booster system on compatible handgun hosts.
The package also includes a 50g container of SchleTek Cera-Grease, a ceramic-based high-temperature lubricant and anti-seize compound formulated for barrel threads, suppressor adapters, muzzle devices, and other threaded muzzle attachments.
Cera-Grease is rated for temperatures from approximately -20°C to 1,500°C and is designed to help protect threaded components against seizing, corrosion, and wear while making installation and removal easier. Its ceramic-based, metal-free formulation can be used with a wide range of materials, including aluminum components.
Including Cera-Grease gives the owner a purpose-built high-temperature thread lubricant for maintaining the Mark 23's threaded muzzle and suppressor mounting components.
The package includes a SureFire X300-B Turbo weapon light producing 650 lumens and 66,000 candela. The Turbo's high-intensity beam provides a concentrated center hotspot and substantial throw from a pistol-mounted light.
The X300T-B features ambidextrous controls for momentary and constant-on activation and uses SureFire's T-slot thumbscrew clamp. Its aluminum body features a hard-anodized finish and an IPX7 waterproof rating to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The Mark 23 uses a distinctive accessory mounting interface, so this build includes a dedicated HK Mark 23 Picatinny Rail Adapter – Gen 2 Made by HK Parts.
The adapter provides a standard Picatinny attachment point for compatible accessories and is particularly well suited to side-clamping weapon lights such as the included SureFire X300-B Turbo.

The HK Mark 23 provides an excellent foundation for a premium suppressed .45 ACP package thanks to its threaded polygonal barrel, robust construction, recoil reduction system, and 12-round capacity.
This Ready Gunner configuration pairs it with the Flat Dark Earth Rugged Obsidian 45 and adds the Rugged M16x1 RH piston needed for the Mark 23 configuration. The matching FDE suppressor and frame also give the package a distinctive two-tone appearance.
The addition of a SureFire X300-B Turbo and dedicated Gen 2 Mark 23 Picatinny Rail Adapter rounds out the package with a premium high-candela weapon light and the mounting interface needed to install it on the Mark 23.
