This beginner handgun course is designed for individuals with little to no experience. Whether you’ve never shot before or just want to build confidence, this class will walk you through the fundamentals step-by-step.

SUMMARY

This course is designed for individuals who have NEVER shot, have only shot a few times, or want a strong foundation in handgun safety and basic shooting fundamentals.

We will methodically walk through:

• Gun storage
• Safe handling
• Transporting your firearm
• Eye & ear protection
• Loading magazines with ammunition
• Loading your magazine into your firearm
• Chambering a round
• Proper grip
• Eye alignment
• Using your firearm’s sights
• Target acquisition
• Body position / stance
• Range etiquette

If you do not have a firearm, rentals are available at the range.

COURSE DETAILS

This course is taught by a Ready Gunner / NRA-certified instructor and covers the essential fundamentals of handgun use.

You will begin in the classroom learning safety, handling, and range procedures before moving onto the range for live fire.

You will shoot up to 75 rounds during the course.

If you are new to firearms and don’t yet own one, that’s okay — we will have multiple firearms available for you to try as part of the class experience.

Parents: If you have a child curious about firearms, this is a great place to start. You are welcome to attend with them.

REQUIRED GEAR

• Eye & ear protection (available for rent if needed)
• 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition

FIREARM RENTALS

• Firearm rental: $15
• Eye & ear protection rental: $4

If you rent a firearm, Ready Gunner ammunition must be used. Prices may vary.
